No Heart

arrogant coward until the bitter end
HA! i laugh at your embittered words
of disappointment, crying of frustrations
blaming the universe for your failure

your notions on life, judgement of others
i see through your facade, i see your heart
your self-hatred, self-loathing, insecurities
lacking the ability to learn from mistakes

misunderstanding the meaning of love
so, it would appear that i am angered
honestly, the cut is too fresh to forget
scar will stop me from pretending i knew you

i will be able to look at the fading line though
then instead of feeling the rage or tears
i’ll feel indifferent, like all lined across my heart
accumulated over the years, deeper than you

  1. How far away and long it seems, waiting for the fade!
    Righteous rant!

  2. When the feelings fade to indifference, we can finally say we've moved on.

  3. Scars may be permanent, but they can be forgotten too and moved past. This is a great piece.

    Thank you for linking up!

  4. Wow, intense feelings here!

  5. I promise to always do right by you, my dear! I don't wish to be another line upon your heart, deep and trench-like or otherwise. You have done a great job at putting that feeling of betrayal, disappointment into excellent words.
