Sleep Dust

Princesses Madi and Liv,
couldn’t sleep at night.
Too tired for cinnamon
rolls in morning light.
Queen Netta called
Land of Dreams,
requesting Sleep Fairy
magic dust on her wings.
Sprinkling slumber. Goodnight.

  1. Thank you. I've often wondered why the slumber doesn't fall on me.

  2. lol. I know, cinnamon rolls before school makes them smile. 🙂

  3. Thank you. The silly things we do for our children. I love doing them though.. 🙂

  4. Awww! I love this-especially after reading your response to Tom. I love this. So sweet and precious. 🙂

  5. So lovely! I could use some slumber sprinkles for myself. 🙂

  6. Nothing is worse than being too tired to eat cinnamon buns. Thank goodness for sleep dust.

  7. lol. I would, but I actually have to transform into the Sleep Fairy and sprinkle 'sleep dust' on my 7 year old for her to go to bed. The things we do for our children. I'm sure it'd be comical to watch.

  8. Thank you!! I've never wrote much of anything but poetry. This story could have possibilities, perhaps. lol. 🙂

  9. I know the feeling. I've had insomnia since age 12 and a normal sleep pattern sounds heavenly. Thanks for stopping by.

  10. Yes, my 11 year old can fall asleep as soon as her head hits her pillow. My 7 year old will find everything under the sun to use as an excuse not to sleep. So, I invented this game with her over the summer, I have to walk out of her room, then spin back in because I'm the 'Sleep Fairy'. Once she is sprinkled with 'sleep dust', mommy returns and tucks her in, crossing my fingers she will just go to sleep. lol.

  11. lovely, this is one that should live on!

  12. I could use some Sleep Fairy dust too. A sweet bedtime nursery rhyme.

  13. My two girls each have their own bedrooms. Unfortunately, only one bedroom resides within the boundaries of the Land of Dreams. Happy for small blessings, however. Your poem was lovely and lyrical. Very well done, Donetta! 🙂

  14. Oooh, nice! (Can you share the number for the Land of Dreams…I could use some help sometimes :))
