2000 – Easter

I study us
our last Easter.
Singing in church.
Baking a bunny cake.
All I can do is stare.
I wasn’t meant to stop
time from moving forward.
I am here to watch.

  1. I will have to brush up on that play, but thank you. 🙂

  2. It would be great. Then I guess if we done the slightest thing different, it could change the course of time. 🙂

  3. The year my granny passed away, one of my favorite memories that year, was of us baking a cake and making a bunny out of it. Lots of laughing about my baking skills. ha. Thank you.

  4. Thank you. I like what you just said……..”time staying in the palm like lines of fate”………… that would make a wonderful line. 🙂

  5. Thank you very much Ann!

  6. It was my last Easter with my granny. She passed away September 2000. Thank you for stopping by.

  7. That's what I love about photos………they capture a moment and freeze it forever.

  8. Thanks for dropping in. I'm glad you liked it.

  9. That is very true. Sometimes moments just get caught in a time warp in our minds.

  10. It is amazing how writing makes each person picture different things. Thank you for dropping by. 🙂

  11. Thank you! Glad to see you are back! 🙂

  12. Thank you. It can go a lot of different ways. It's cool to see how differently some people interpret writings. Glad you stopped by.

  13. I am here to watch – such a great line because it can go so many ways. I have her sitting there, time stopped (oops!) and her trying to urge time forward again so she can watch.

  14. Such a wonderful memory.

  15. I agree completely with both the comment about “Our Town” and the comment about letting children grow up. Plaintive writing that is so moving.

  16. This is sad, but touching. I love that last line. “I am here to watch.” Of course, we can't stop time, but we can replay the moments over and over so sometimes it feels like we can.

  17. I am here to watch. I took this to mean letting our children grow up. Lovely piece. Thank you for linking up.

  18. There are moments I'd live to freeze. Nice.

  20. This is so sad.

  21. Beautiful lines! Sad that time cannot stay in the palm like lines of fate. “I am here to watch” is a profound line.

  22. This is very real and sad. Brought me back to some memories. Well written.

  23. This reminds me of the play, Our Town. I like this pathos.

  24. Sometimes I really wish I could time travel.
