If I’m not mistaken, this is the 100th post for this blog!!! Makes it special in a way, and I also received a lovely comment from Louise over at Baby Gates Down. She nominate me for The Sunshine Award and it put a smile on my face. I actually feel the same way she did about awards. This came at a time I needed it. So, after I answer her questions, I will nominate 11 beautiful bloggers and ask my 10 questions. Ready?
If you wish to accept, here are your
1. Why do you blog?
This is an easy one. I love to write. I also love the people I have met in the blogging world. It’s great to share things that are on my mind and it’s with people who don’t know me on a day to day basis, therefore, they can be more open-minded to my situation and the things I type.
2. If you could be anyone for one day, who would it be?
If I could be anyone for one day I would want to be Michelle Pfeiffer. I have just always had an admiration for the characters she plays and how well she plays them. She has a different look, eyes that are captivating and a style that is hard to compete with. Also she has played in movies such as ‘One Fine Day’ with George Clooney, ‘What Lies Beneath’ with Harrison Ford, ‘Dark Shadows’ with Johnny Depp and so many more roles. I loved her in ‘White Oleander’ and ‘The Deep End of the Ocean’. I believe as far as actresses goes, she just has an it factor and it would be fascinating to step in her shoes for one day. I almost would bet that she doesn’t realize how stunning some people find her.
3. Favorite movie?
My absolute favorite movie is kinda of a tie…………… I will always adore and love ‘Gone With The Wind’ because of the classic, the history, Vivien Leigh is one of my all time favorite actresses ever. However, I would have to say my favorite movie is ‘A Beautiful Mind’. It’s about John Nash. True story. The beauty of the movie, his mind, his struggles, all of it is so captivating.
4. Do you like to dance?
I actually don’t dance a lot. I mean, when I’m doing dishes, I may turn on the radio and sway a bit. I have been to several clubs and danced. I always feel awkward. Not as much now that I’m 37. But at 21, I was very unsure of myself and not comfortable in my own skin. I am comfortable in my own skin now, don’t over analyze everything, so I think if I did go out dancing, then I would enjoy it more.
5. What is your ideal evening out of the house?
A perfect evening with a babysitter for my girls would be me dressed up. I love to wear heels, even with a very cute shirt and jeans. I would like to go to a local nice place to eat that also has an inside bar, such as Texas Steak House. Have some mixed drinks with my boyfriend over dinner. Then, I would like to go see a movie at a drive in place that’s in the next county called Starlight. Afterward, I’d like for us to have some more mixed drinks and come home, the children are with my best friend. We turn everything off except for some candles in our bedroom and just enjoy being together without worrying about waking one of the girls up. I also would be just as content if he goes to the circus on February 2nd that will be about an hour away but well worth the drive.
6. Did you make a New Year’s Resolution? If yes, have you kept it?
I don’t usually make resolutions. This year I done a prompt for Trifecta to type a 3 word resolution and mine was “Remember to Breathe”. I haven’t done well with that one. The only other resolution I have is to lose 25 pounds before summer and try to get back into yoga and meditation. I don’t exactly have issues with weight but I was put on a new medicine in October that has caused weight gain, along with bad eating habits and slacking on any type of exercise. I normally am active.
7. Favorite quote?
8. Rich and okay or poor and truly happy?
Rich and okay. I have been pretty much bordering poor my entire life.
9. Do you believe that work-life balance exists?
Work, life, balance exist all 3 together? Yes, I do. I worked as an assistant manager at a local gas station that was small but stayed pretty busy. It took me a year to make assistant manager but I was proud of how I treated customers as well as employees. It was a fun job actually. I was 21 and recently separated. At 18 years old I had worked in data entry for a pretty large company, moved from there to patient accounts and billing at a local hospital. This job gave me responsibilities yet wasn’t stuffy and everyone trying to get ahead. I was able to have a decent amount of money, take trips to North Carolina to see my best friend who was stationed at Pope Air Force Base, go to the beach and relax, and balance my life at home as far as cleaning, dating, and seeing life long friends. I also had a very nice work, being a bartender from 2001 to 2004, but was able to balance time spent with my daughter and I was happy there too. Since I know it exist, I’m trying hard to find it again.
10. Chips, candy or what’s your poison?
Ah, I spoke of weight gain in one of my answers, but I’ll be honest, brownies are my downfall.
————————————————————————————————————————————————-So, now it is time to nominate blogs/bloggers that I would like to receive The Sunshine Award. This may be hard. I don’t want to nominate poor Louise and have her go through this again. Then there are so many blogs and bloggers that I enjoy, learn from, admire, and they keep me blogging. My nominees for The Sunshine Award: Hilary at Feeling Beachie, Piper Punches, Lizzi at Considerings (sorry Lizzi. I know you already were nominated, but I admire you very much. Since you were nominated, I won’t be upset if you done one and let mine slide. lol), The Wakefield Doctrine, Christine from A Fly on Our Chicken Coop Wall, Jen at My Skewed View (who does amazing blog hops about music), Linda Roy over at Elleroy Was Here, Lance at My Blog Can Beat Up Your Blog (who also has an amazing 100 Word Song on his blog), Draug at I Write Stories and Things (also an amazing story teller whom sometimes doesn’t give herself enough credit), Jo-Anne Teal who always leaves encouraging comments on my poetry and brings a smile to my face. Reading her blog, Going For Coffee, is very inspiring to me, and last but definitely not least is Ivy at Mommy Dourest. Her sense of humor and witty post are wonderful. Wow. Listing the nominees does take awhile. Now here are my 10 questions for anyone who isn’t too tired to go ahead answer and nominate and inform and question, and all that. I completely understand the ones, especially the ones that have been blogging for awhile, not wanting to go through this process at the moment. I have been in the blog world for a little over a year and so I’m still game. 🙂 ———————————————————————————————————————————————— 1.)
