Memory in Limbo

Stopping for a minute,
watching the girl, books
scattered neatly around.
Memory held briefly
of me back then.
No regrets in my heart
as I hoped she wouldn’t
let life lead her astray.

  1. Thank you. That makes me feel good, that it's one of your favorites.

  2. Thank you. Trifecta is one of those blogs that I'm so thankful I stumbled upon somehow. Hope you join in on some prompts!!!

  3. Lovely reflective piece and you are so young. Good take on the prompt.

  4. Great job with the prompt. How interesting these snapshots of our former selves are. Thanks for linking up.

  5. This is really quite beautiful – one of my favorites of yours (so far!). “No regrets in my heart” – that's the important thing, no? Great job!

  6. May I say what Tina said? Because that is exactly how I feel about your story, too. Loved the looking-back aspect of your take on the photo. Loved the attitude of not wishing to turn back time, either. Ever forward! 🙂

  7. What a wonderful piece! I love that you saw your own past in the picture, with a hopeful wish for a different outcome. It made me smile!

  8. Love the self-reflection in this, Donetta! Very nicely done! 🙂

  9. Wow! I've never heard of Trifecta (live in a cave) but it looks very interesting. Beautiful post.

  10. Thank you very much.

  13. Thank you. I love the way you put it……… bumps of life, led astray. Great liine.

  14. Sweet line about regrets.

  15. This is so real. It happens to me sometimes. I see someone doing something I used to have an interest in and through bumps of life was led astray. Great 33!

  16. I love that you used this as a reflective piece. The feeling of hope mixed with a little touch of wistfulness is a great combination here.

  17. Oh Donetta-this is so lovely and unique!I liked the fact that she sees her younger self in the girl inside and hopes she won't go astray like she had but still doesn't have any regrets of the life she has led -great attitude-no use crying over split milk:-)
