5 Sentence Fiction – Doors

Anxiety washed over Charlene when she stared at the run down hallway, littered with debris.  Little had changed since she was a 12 year old run away more than 20 years ago.  She longed to turn around without heading toward the light at the last exist.  All her long hours of studying, extra time spent on cases while other reporters slept, and working harder than anyone else should have prepared her for this.  The tabloids were already selling out, leaving her a small window of time to write an article based on fact about the body found at 1566 Blues Man Road, her old haunt back when she kept running, and couldn’t see another way out.

    1. Thank you so much. I recently started experimenting with fiction. It’s proven to be more difficult than I could imagine. 🙂
