Before Winter

Autumn in Madeira by Jacek Yerka

Glorious colors dance together

to remind us change is good.
Temperatures barely lowered,
stickiness of summer is gone.
Scratchy throat from cool nights
promise crisp leaves to rake.
Reaping in crops, and seeds sown,
trying to store up sunshine
to carry us through harsh winter.
