All winter, snow covered the ground.
Boots and thick socks tried to keep my feet from the cold.
Spring came in intervals, warm then chilly winds.
I don’t recall summer weather creeping in as if it had always been there.
Today I threw on a pair of white sandals and painted my toenails black.
I enjoy the contrast.
Soon I know I will throw care to the wind and shed these sandals so my bare feet can feel the moist grass.
